Aaron Del Mar Victorious in Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Race
New Committeeman Thanks Skoien for His Service and Calls for Unity
Aaron Del Mar has officially won the race for Palatine Township Republican Committeeman. With the final of 80 precincts reporting, Del Mar finished with 50.67% of the vote, amassing a total of 4,556 votes.
“I am so thankful to my family and supporters who never wavered during a difficult campaign,” said Del Mar after the results were tabulated. “I’d also like to thank Gary Skoien for his years of service and hard work on behalf of the Republican Party. While we have had our disagreements, his hard work deserves recognition, as does the work of the Republican precinct captains in the TOPPER organization.”
Del Mar immediately went to work uniting the party in Palatine Township, securing promises from the United Republicans of Palatine Township and the Palatine Township Young Republicans to merge with the new, soon-to-be-formed official Republican organization: the Palatine Township Republican Organization. Del Mar hopes many of the members of TOPPER will join the new official Republican organization, but realizes it may take some time.
“We have a lot of work to do healing the wounds from this campaign and from the strife over the years, and I’m committed to making that happen as quickly as possible so we can be at full strength leading into the November elections. We have so many great Republican candidates that will need our support and we will win Palatine Township for every single one of them.
